"Upon listening to the song, you can quickly hear what they excel at: namely fuzzed-up hooks that sway back and forth like the ocean on a clear day. There's edge to the band's bite, the guitars getting a little darker at the midpoint before revving back up for a wavy solo." -- CLRVYNT
Monograms is the project of Brooklyn's Ian Jacobs, who has been releasing music under the moniker for the past couple of years. What started as a solo bedroom project has since grown into a four-piece live band, and they've been keeping busy playing plenty of hometown shows, opening for artists like GØGGS, Sløtface, and Juan Wauters.
The band's new EP, Silencer, is due out April 21st and features four tracks that were recorded during different sessions, with different lineups, over the past twelve months. As a result, each track shows a slightly different side of Monograms, but you can expect to hear plenty of fuzzed-out guitars and catchy hooks.
EP track "OK Promises" will also be featured on an upcoming 7" split with Pink Mexico, due out April 7th via new Brooklyn-based label Archie's Records.
